Nova Scotia Fences

"...Your fences are not mine, My fences are not yours, why do we have them anyway? ... You've set your boundaries, I've set mine. We've drawn the line. You've kept your guard up, I've kept mine. We think we're safe inside until we find the walls that once surrounded and protected are the walls that now divide." J. Varnadeau

Floundering Fishing Trip

As the distant boat arrives after spending 2 days at sea, it backs up to the end of the wharf to remove the net that has given them far too much grief. Problems with their gear has caused them to cut their typical 3 day trip short.

Using a wharf truck, the long, heavy net was pulled off of the boats large spool and spread out across the wharf. The seagulls arrived swiftly to enjoy a quick meal on the flounder still stuck in the net. The crew will begin repairs to their equipment which will take a full day and then they will return to fishing.
Typically a 3 day Flounder fishing trip would
bring in a harvest of over 20,000 lbs of fish, but due to issues with the gear, this 2 day trip brought home approximately 6ooo lbs.
