2010 Summer Highlights

The Public Gardens in Halifax NS have always been a place we have frequently visited since we moved to NS. A mother in-law visit in July to the east coast would not be complete without a walk through the garden.

One of the favorite things for Jackie and I to do is to hop on the motorcycle and see where it takes us. On August 1st (our 23rd anniversary) we spent the day together on the bike and ended up at this mill museum somewhere in the Northern area of Nova Scotia. We probably would have a hard time finding it again, but it did make for a nice stop during our trip.

Another August day, another stroll. This time we went through Point Pleasant Park in Nova Scotia. What a great day we had skipping stones, walking the trails and both Brad and I getting a great fill of raspberries along the trails and in the bushes.

One of the features that drew us to our home was the front porch. Most seasons much of our time is spent just sitting on our front porch in the early mornings and evenings... actually, I guess anytime it's warm and we have no place to go, the front porch is nice place to be. While sitting on the porch, a butterfly happened by and landed on some of my flowers. I remember when butterflies were far more frequently seen, but these days it's a treat to see one.

Summer time in Halifax is awesome. Going downtown to the boardwalk or the parks always brings back memories and creates many new ones. Life sure is different now. The old days walks involved strollers and sitting around watching the boys climb around playgrounds and now days they seem to have their own girls with them and time is still so special with just spending time and great conversations.
